How to Volunteer for a Clinical Research Study
Clinical studies provide patients with an opportunity to participate in research involving new medications, devices or protocols that may lead to breakthroughs in medicine. At WakeMed, participation in a clinical research study is completely voluntary. You will never be pressured by WakeMed staff to sign up for a clinical trial.
In most cases, participants will undergo a free screening to qualify for a study and are enrolled based on the results. While each study is different, most will reimburse participants for time and travel expenses, and all treatment/medication/devices will be provided at no cost. You have the right to withdraw from a study at any time. We respect your time and want to ensure that you are satisfied with your participation in a study.
