The WakeMed Heart & Vascular Services physician team has grown dramatically during the past year and we are pleased to introduce the latest addition - Dr. Sahar Amery.
Before completing her fellowship in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Amery worked as a hospitalist (a specialist in treating hospital patients with a variety of chronic, urgent and acute medical conditions) most recently at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. She also served as a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine at Albany Medical College.
Her clinical interests include non-invasive cardiology, general cardiology, heart failure, women and heart disease, prevention and diagnostics, including nuclear studies, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiogram and stress testing.
Dr. Amery is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and the American Heart Association. She is fluent in English, Farsi and Spanish and is pleased to return to her home state of North Carolina.
A Woman's Touch
Some people simply prefer the care they receive from a female physician. At the WakeMed Heart Center, we are pleased to have three female cardiologists on our team.
