School Information
Following your child's diagnosis with diabetes, you will need to contact your child's School Based Public Health Nurse. The nurse will arrange for your child's care in the school setting which includes reviewing the diabetes care plan, ensuring the training of appropriate school staff, and discussing your child's diabetes supply needs for school.
If your child attends Wake County public schools, please call (919) 250-4631 and ask who the nurse is for your child's school. You will be given the nurse's voice mail number. Leave a message for the nurse to discuss your child's diabetes care at school.
If your child attends a school outside of Wake County, constact your child's school to get the contact name and phone number for the nurse for your school.
