CPE Extended Unit Fact Sheet
Meeting days: Meet Monday from 8 am to 4:30 pm
Individual supervision: Scheduled for a day during the week that fits the schedules of both you and your supervisor
On-Calls may be assigned on a weekday or weekend: Number of days between on-call depends on the total number of Chaplains in the group and can be as often as (but no more than) every nine to twelve days.
Clinical area in the hospital that is your "parish": You are responsible for ministry to the patients, their families and the staff in your assigned clinical areas. You are to spend 8 - 10 hours each week in your clinical area(s).
Meetings include: Case Conference Seminars; Interpersonal & Professional Relationships (IPR); and Didactics
Written Work includes:
- Learning contract
- One verbatim per week
- Weekly process notes
- Weekly visitation reports
- Mid-Unit Evaluation
- Reading reports on readings negotiated with supervisor
- Final Evaluation
Fees include:
- Application fee - $10 (Payable to WakeMed Department of Spiritual Care)
- Student Assessment fee - $70 (Payable to Mid-Atlantic Region ACPE)
- Tuition - $300 (Payable to WakeMed Department of Spiritual Care)
