WakeMed Raleigh Campus Adult Emergency Department

The Adult Emergency Department on the WakeMed Raleigh Campus is home to Wake County's only Level I Trauma Center, as well as a nationally accredited Chest Pain and Primary Stroke Center.

From minor cuts to major trauma, there's nothing our emergency department staff hasn't seen and treated.

The department included 63 emergency beds, including three trauma suites and is supported by a Chest Pain Unit and two Observation Units. 

A Minor Emergency Care Area is also available for patients when they have a less-urgent medical situation.   This area is open from 11 am - 1 am, seven days a week.
