Apex Healthplex Emergency Department

The Emergency Department at WakeMed Apex Healthplex is WakeMed's second standalone, 24-hour ED.

Backed by WakeMed Cary Hospital, the facility is conveniently located in the fast-growing western part of Wake County.

The Apex Healthplex Emergency Department includes:

  • 12 private treatment rooms
  • Two private rooms for patient triage
  • Imaging equipment, including x-ray, CT scan, Open Bore MRI and ultrasound
  • An ambulance receiving area
  • Patient reception and waiting rooms

The Emergency Department is staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians with specialists available as needed.

The Emergency Department also treats patients who are brought in through local EMS by ambulance.  An on-site helipad is a landing site for WakeMed Air Mobile to transport patients who need to be air lifted to another facility.

Accessible online or by phone, ChartStart enables our Emergency Department staff to prepare for your visit. If you (or your family member) have a non-life-threatening emergency, you can go online or call ahead to answer a few simple questions about your condition. We call them our "Fast-6,"and your answers will enable us to create your medical chart.

Access ChartStart or call 919-350-1590.
