About Your Bill
We will make every effort to keep this process as simple as possible. Your surgical procedure will generate several different bills from different sources:
- Our bill covers the use of the facility and all necessary supplies used during your surgical procedure.
- You will receive separate bills from your surgeon and anesthesiologist.
- Other billable services that may be used during your surgery are laboratory and/or pathology charges, radiology and some specialty items.
The WakeMed North Raleigh Surgery Center will bill your insurance (both primary and secondary). Upon registration you will be asked for your driver’s license or other government issued identification as well as your insurance card. Please make sure you bring both with you. This will assist with ensuring your billing and insurance payments are handled in a timely manner.
We will contact your insurance carrier if there is any question about your eligibility. If it is determined that you are responsible for the bill in its entirety or just a portion, we will notify you before your date of surgery to make payment arrangements. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Copays and Deductibles
The center requires payment of your deductible, copays and coinsurance before or on the day of your surgery. Prior to your surgery, you may receive a call from our Business Office to discuss these estimated out of pocket expenses. Any out-of-pocket estimates are based on the surgery center charges only.
You may also request to receive a reasonable estimate of charges. The estimate is based upon your current insurance benefits. Post-surgery, upon request, you may request an itemized bill of charges.
Insurance
The WakeMed North Raleigh Surgery Center participates in the same insurance plans as WakeMed. Your surgeon, anesthesiologist, radiologist and pathologist; however, may participate in different plans as they are not employed by WakeMed. It is important to inquire about professional fees prior to any surgery.
