WakeMed Restricted Visitation Policy - Effective December 31, 2012 - Wednesday, February 13
In an effort to protect patients, visitors and employees from flu, WakeMed is implementing the following visitor restrictions:
- No one under the age of 18 is allowed to visit patients without prior approval from a WakeMed healthcare provider
- There is a limit of two adult visitors per patient at a time
- Visitors who are ill with a fever or other cold or flu-like symptoms including cough, sneezing, running nose, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhea are asked not to visit patients.
- Learn more about our restricted visitation policy.
Due to consistently declining flu rates in the hospital and community, the visitation restrictions will end on Thursday, February 14.
At WakeMed, we are committed to community preparedness and response, and we are currently working closely with other local hospitals, health care providers, emergency medical services and Wake County Human Services to standardize planning and communications regarding the flu virus in Wake County.
The following pages are dedicated to helping you and your family prepare and stay healthy this flu season.
