Employee Forums: Raleigh Campus, Wednesday, March 5
WakeMed is in the process of developing a new Strategic Plan, and the leadership team will be asking for important feedback from employees on that direction as well as other ideas and opinions during this round of forums. Please join us for an interactive discussion about WakeMed's strategic direction. The next forum will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, March 5, in the Andrews Center. Click for the full schedule.
Temporary Change in Water Treatment Disinfecting Process
Raleigh, Cary, Apex and several other local communities will temporarily stop adding ammonia to the water treatment disinfecting process during the month of March. The change in treatment is required by federal and state regulations. Cary and Apex will resume adding ammonia to the water treatment process on April 1; the City of Raleigh will resume on April 9. In the meantime, you may notice a change in the color and taste of your water, but the water is absolutely safe to drink. Click for an article that includes more details.
Winter Storm Survey – Share Your Feedback!
Environmental Health & Safety asks that all staff who were affected by the most recent storm complete a brief survey to help us understand what went well and what can be improved upon in the future. A summary of feedback and lessons learned will be published in an upcoming Microscope – stay tuned!
Microwave Safety Reminder
Please remember to practice general safety precautions when using microwaves at any WakeMed facility. To reduce the risk of fire and burning, please stay with the microwave and keep an eye on your food while it is heating up.
