Caring for Baby Classes

Baby Basics Classes

WakeMed offers two classes that cover all of the basics first-time parents need to know, such as bathing, changing diapers, taking a temperature, and comforting newborns. Select from one of the following two classes, Newborn Basics or Bringing Home Baby, which are taught in different styles to meet the needs of all expecting parents.

Newborn Basics is a three-hour class led by an instructor. Participants will learn newborn baby skills through hands-on practice, and will have their questions answered in a group discussion.
The cost is $25.

Bringing Home Baby is a three-hour class taught at WakeMed Cary Hospital. Expectant parents go station-to-station for hands-on experience in an independent format. Learning is self-paced and participants can spend as much or as little time on topics as they want. The instructor demonstrates baby care techniques and is available for questions and further instruction as needed.
The cost is $40.
