Meet the Innovations Team

Dr. Stuart Ginn is an ENT – Head & Neck Surgeon and Innovation leader at WakeMed Health & Hospitals, co-leading leading system-wide innovation efforts as the medical director of WakeMed Innovations. He is a former flight instructor and spent several years as an airline pilot prior to his medical and surgical training. In his role at WakeMed Innovations, he led the inception and implementation of the nation's first drone-based medical package delivery system in partnership with the NC DOT, the FAA, and technology and logistics partners. He is an advisor to technology companies and service providers in the emerging advanced mobility industry at the intersection of mobility, logistics, and healthcare delivery design. Stuart is focused on developing WakeMed's innovation capacity through combined programs supporting internal innovators at the point of care as well as external strategic partnerships with emerging health technology and service providers.
Diana Rhyne is the executive director of Research and Innovation at WakeMed Health & Hospitals, supporting transformative improvements in health care and health care delivery. WakeMed's clinical research programs provide our patients and families with the latest treatment options and clinical trial opportunities relevant for their care. WakeMed Innovations connects our staff, providers, and partners with the tools and resources needed to move creative, innovative care ideas from conception to reality. Diana has an MBA from UNC's Kenan Flagler Business School.
Casey Granack is the manager of Innovations at WakeMed Health & Hospitals, focusing on the development and implementation of new approaches to address unmet needs within the healthcare industry. Casey has a diverse healthcare background with experience as a strategic advisor and consultant in health insurance, hospital system consulting and national accreditation. She holds a bachelor's degree in Health Care Management; Accounting Minor from Appalachian State University and is currently working toward her master's at UNC – Chapel Hill.
