- Abscesses and fistulas — pus-filled cavity near the anus or rectum
- Anal cancer, fissures and warts — cancerous tumor that starts in the tissues of the anus
- Colon cancer and polyps — cancerous tumor and tissue growths that start in the large intestine (also known as the colon)
- Colovesical fistula — rare condition that creates a connection between the colon and the bladder, allowing fecal matter to enter the bladder
- Constipation — decreased frequency of bowel movements often with harder stools and incomplete elimination of the bowels
- Diverticulitis — small pouches in the digestive system that become inflamed
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) — symptoms include chronic burning chest pain and a bitter taste in the mouth

- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) — chronic condition of the large intestine that causes pain, cramping, diarrhea and constipation
- Prurits Ani — intense, chronic itching in the area around the anus
- Rectovaginal fistula — opening between the rectum and the vagina that allows gas and stool to pass through the vagina
- Rectal cancer and prolapse — cancerous tumor that starts in the lining of the rectum and condition in which the rectum protrudes through the anus
