About Me
Dr. Huang is a board-certified pediatrician with WakeMed Physician Practices with expertise in pediatric weight and lipid management. She serves as the associate medical director for Pediatric Weight Management as well as the primary physician for the Pediatric Lipid Program.
After graduating from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Studies at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Dr. Huang continued her training by completing a residency in general pediatrics at UNC at Chapel Hill and a clinical and postdoctoral research fellowship in nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She also has had extensive training and experience in program development and nutrition leadership.
Dr. Huang previously served as an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and Attending Physician in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During her tenure there, she was the Founding Medical Director of the Healthy Weight Program, and the Program Director of the Nutrition Fellowship Program. She has shared her knowledge and expertise with the medical community at numerous conferences across the country, by teaching and mentoring students and trainees, and through research publications.
Since 2019, Dr. Huang serves a Board Member of the Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh, NC. She is also a recipient of the 2020 Women in Business Award from The Triangle Business Triangle (TBJ) for her continued work to help improve the health and well-being of children and families along with her efforts on the pediatric lipid program and more.
In her time away from work, Dr. Huang enjoys traveling, the outdoors, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her husband and two children.
