About Me
Dr. Erin McGloin is a board-certified general pediatric physician with clinical interests in premature and medically complex children. Dr. McGloin completed fellowship training that focused on the care of NICU graduates in the outpatient setting. She enjoys helping this population overcome obstacles they were given early in life. Dr. McGloin sees a world of possibilities in her young patients and strives to do everything she can to help them reach their potential.
She earned her medical degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and completed her residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. McGloin completed her special infant care fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. During her fellowship, Dr. McGloin focused on the care of high risk premature and medically complex infants in the Transitional Care Nursery and continued post-discharge care in the Special Infant Care Clinic with a focus on neurodevelopmental outcome.
As a general pediatrician, Dr. McGloin feels that she has the advantage of seeing the child as a whole instead of focusing on one problem fragmented from the whole. Providing quality care for children requires a team approach with collaboration from parents and the medical team as well as creating a safe and comfortable environment to help children thrive. Dr. McGloin’s good-natured, empathetic personality helps her create relationships built on mutual respect and backed by her wholehearted commitment to the well-being of the child.
Outside of work, Dr. McGloin enjoys spending time with her family, listening to Texas Country and Red Dirt music, eating Mexican and Creole food, baking, and watching shark week. Much of her free time has been spent in various volunteer programs ranging from relief and rebuilding efforts in post-Katrina New Orleans, to helping run a free medical clinic during medical school.
