About this event

Falls are a leading cause of injury among older adults. Still, fear of falling doesn’t need to rule your life. Instead, join us for A Matter of Balance to learn simple fall prevention strategies.

A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls. This evidence-based program is led by trained coaches from WakeMed Outpatient Rehab. The class will meet once a week on Thursdays for 8 weeks starting on April 10. Each class is 2 hours from 10 am - 12 pm.

In this program, you will learn to:

  • View falls as preventable
  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Make changes at home to improve your safety
  • Improve your flexibility, balance and strength

This program is by REGISTRATION ONLY and is for eight (8) weeks. Sessions are held once a week on Thursday at 10 am, starting April 10th through May 29th. A program fee of $50 is due on the first day of the program. Card, cash and check are accepted. Space is limited. Register today!
