About this event
Falls are a leading cause of injury among older adults. Still, fear of falling doesn’t need to rule your life. Instead, join us for A Matter of Balance to learn simple fall prevention strategies.
A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls. This evidence-based program is led by trained coaches from WakeMed Outpatient Rehab. The class will meet once a week on Mondays for 8 weeks starting on September 8 through October 27. Each class is 2 hours from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.
In this program, you will learn to:
- View falls as preventable
- Set goals for increasing activity
- Make changes at home to improve your safety
- Improve your flexibility, balance and strength
This program is by REGISTRATION ONLY and is for eight (8) weeks. A program fee of $50 is due on the first day of the program. Card, cash and check are accepted. Space is limited. Register today!
