Located on the WakeMed Raleigh Campus, the Pediatric Outpatient Procedure Suite is available for patients requiring sedation services for routine and advanced minor outpatient procedures. This all-in-one-stop offers the ultimate in convenience and care in a comfortable and child-friendly setting. And, since no medical professional can replace mom and dad, parents can stay at their child’s side before, during and after the procedure.

Our Team

Procedures in the Pediatric Outpatient Procedure Suite are performed by WakeMed Physician Practices team of pediatric surgeons, pediatric orthopedic surgeons, pediatric intensivists, and other physician specialists who care for children. A dedicated team of sedation intensivists and specially trained pediatric nurses will work together to form and carry out the safest individualized plan for your child based on the planned procedure.

Procedures

The Pediatric Outpatient Procedure Suite can accommodate a wide range of minor procedures on an outpatient basis, including:

• Abscess drainage
• Suture removal
• Gastrostomy tube replacement
• Chest tube insertion or removal
• Lumbar punctures
• Wound dressing and Wound Vac changes
• Blood draws for special needs children
• Ingrown toenail removal
• PICC line placement
• Fracture reductions
• Broviac removal
• Extra digit removal
