Dismiss Modal

RALEIGH, N.C. (January 14, 2025) – Due to the significant rise of respiratory viruses throughout our community, the second phase of WakeMed’s annual seasonal visitation restrictions is now in effect.

WakeMed’s number one priority is the health and safety of our patients. As a result, beginning January 14, children younger than age 12 are not permitted to visit patients in WakeMed hospital nursing units, patient care areas, and waiting rooms.

While we truly understand that visitation restrictions can be difficult for families, WakeMed is committed to ensuring our patients are safe while they are in our care. Restricting visitation is best clinical practice.

As always, if you have symptoms of any acute, contagious illness, please do not visit WakeMed out of respect for our patients.

Exceptions to seasonal visitation restrictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
