About Me
Dr. Samareh Hill serves as the Medical Director of Pediatric Weight Management, the Adolescent Weight Loss (Bariatric) Surgery Program and the ENERGIZE! Program. She is dual-boarded in General Pediatrics and Obesity Medicine. In 2016, she founded the Pediatric Weight Management practice at WakeMed, our comprehensive family-based program focused on managing excess weight and associated health conditions in children and teens. Her professional interests includes program development, clinical research, and developing partnerships with community organizations to expand local resources for her patients. She also enjoys mentoring and teaching medical students and trainees about the field of pediatric obesity and bariatric medicine in her role as assistant professor of Pediatrics at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine and at UNC School of Medicine. In 2020, Dr. Hill was listed as one of the Top Doctors in NC in the Triangle Business Journal.
Dr. Hill received a medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, and she completed her pediatric residency at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, CT. She completed a clinical fellowship on pediatric weight management at Nemours A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Hill earned a Master of Public Health from Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health in Philadelphia, and she received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
In her time away from work, Dr. Hill enjoys the outdoors, growing her own food and spending time with her husband and three children.
