Dr. Pilati was very knowledgeable and he attended to my direct needs by reviewing my medical history and providing a way forward on my journey to losing more weight. He listened to my concerns and provided great professional feedback, Michelle was also great. She explained my next course of action, appointments, and insurance and self-pay information.

I accidentally came into the office when it was a virtual appointment and the staff brought me in the back and spoke to me in person and did not send me home. I really appreciated that. I met with the Dr. virtually as scheduled but everyone in the office was really nice and accommodating.

In the past I have had experiences where because of being overweight, I felt unheard and unlistened to. This was NOT the case with Dr. Pilati. He seemed to take a genuine interest in my case and the dynamics of it and also wanted to find a way that would help me the most.

My initial visit with Dr. Pilati and his team was a few weeks ago. Since day one with the introduction of who each person is and their role they play in my care was by far the best I’ve ever had! Dr. Pilati is hilarious and he makes you feel comfortable as well as very informed of what is coming, what’s expected of you as a patient and what the future holds. Originally, my surgery was to be performed by Dr. []. I found out 72 hours before my surgery that he was no longer with Wake Med. I panicked. I came so far; completed test, appointments, getting approvals, all for this to happen. It was upsetting to say the least. I was told that the surgery could still be preformed if I felt comfortable enough to have another surgeon do it. I was very hesitant, but I decided to move forward. I met Dr. Pilati via a video visit. We talked for a while. We discussed the type of surgery I would be having, went over all my work up appointments and approvals. I appreciated Dr. Pilati taking the time with me to talk because not only was I upset, I was also nervous. He reassured me that everything would be okay. I highly recommend Dr. Pilati. I appreciate his professionalism and his willingness to work me in in such a short amount of time. He turned this horrible moment into a life changing moment. I am forever grateful and thankful.
