Dr. Williford is also interested in performing bariatric surgery and repairing abdominal wall hernias using both advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques. One of Dr. Williford’s passions is education, and he enjoys incorporating the teaching of students and residents into his clinical practice. His most recent areas of research interest include surgeon wellness, biliary disease and bariatrics. Dr. Williford earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Williford completed his fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Williford understands that he frequently meets patients at a point of vulnerability, and that it is normal to have questions and apprehensions. He strives to approach all patients with respect, patience, and humility, and desires to be both an advocate for them and a trusted resource. Dr. Williford is devoted to the wellbeing of his patients and works faithfully to ensure that they have the best possible experience throughout the surgical process. Outside of work, Dr. Williford enjoys running, spending quality time with his wife and two daughters, participating in his church and looking for ways to serve the larger community.
