About Me
Debbie Thompson has been a physical therapist since 1983. For the first 23 years of her career, she worked with spinal cord injury patients and loved assisting them to reach higher levels of functioning after devastating injury. Now, Thompson focuses on patients who have chronic pain and its impact on their quality of life. Chronic pain is a leading cause of disability and helping patients return to a more active, engaged and successful way of life is very important to her. Her treatment approach involves holistic modalities (education, exercise/activity, nutrition, stress management) to decrease pain and improve function.
Thompson received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy at Charleston, SC’s Medical University of South Carolina and continues to receive training in specialties that help her assist her patients with chronic pain issues.
