About Me

Dr. Annie Lahti is a board-certified obstetrics and gynecology physician trained to diagnose, treat, and manage a broad range of conditions. Dr. Lahti’s clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, contraceptive management, infertility, management of abnormal bleeding and low and high-risk obstetrics. Dr. Lahti received her medical degree from Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Maryland.

Dr. Lahti’s goal with every patient is to understand them as a person and then understand how she can help them improve their health and overall quality of life. She takes pride in listening carefully to patients and then investigating, diagnosing, and managing their conditions utilizing the latest advances in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Lahti’s patients receive the same level of care and attention that she would expect of someone treating her family members. Her patients can expect education about their bodies, health risks, and things to look out for in between visits or after procedures, which is critical to establishing a trusting care relationship that minimizes the risk of future health problems. Outside of work, Dr. Lahti enjoys dancing, hiking, and traveling. While at home, she enjoys cooking, needlepoint, and volunteering with the DAR Service for Veterans in the Triangle.

She was excellent in explaining the pessary use, and brought Dr [ ] in to meet me since I have an appointment with him next month to discuss possible prolapse surgery. He was great also and assisted with the pessary fitting.

Dr. Lahti listened to all of my concerns and eased my anxiety. She took into account my financial situation when ordering tests and valued my input as well. She didn't seem rushed and did a thorough exam which is lacking in many practices since covid. She has fantastic bedside manner. I also appreciated the ability to get a timely apt given my concerns and the kindness and understanding of the office staff when I needed to bring my two young children to the apt.

I had been extremely nervous about having a PAP smear due to bad experiences in the past, and Dr, Lahti was so kind and patient. She took her time even though I’d been late (I went to the wrong place), and went out of her way to make the appointment seem relaxed and unrushed. A PAP smear is never fun but Dr. Lahti made it the least-bad PAP smear experience I’ve ever had, and now I don’t have to stress so much about the next one.

Dr. Lahti is extremely thorough and kind! Such a great provider to have. She took the time to go through things that are current in my pregnancy and how I can relieve certain pains etc. As well as check in on things in my medical history and when they can be re evaluated, which no other physicians have taken the time to mention. The appointment doesn't feel rushed, even as she is writing notes during the appointment.
