About Me

Molly S. Calabria is a physician assistant in hospital medicine with clinical interests in treating chronic conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, kidney disease and heart disease. She looks forward to treating the acute exacerbations of disease states that she previously managed for many years in outpatient primary care.

Calabria has spent a good deal of time volunteering with her state professional organization — the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA). She currently serves as the Immediate Past President (served as President in 2022) and is a member of several committees. She was also elected in 2023 to be a delegate from North Carolina to the American Academy of Physician Assistants' House of Delegates for 2024 and 2025.

Calabria strives to practice patient-centered care, treating patients as a whole, while engaging them in their care decisions. She loves collaborating on a health care team, working with other health professionals to find solutions and considering best methods to approach various medical problems.

When not at work, Calabria loves partaking in music. Her undergraduate degree is in violin performance (with a minor in chemistry). Her daughter started violin lessons, which brings them much joy and connection in this shared passion. Calabria also loves to read and is part of a monthly book club with several other women — many of whom are health professionals.
