Our childbirth facilities have access to the latest technology available to support your every physical and emotional need.

Personal comfort is a key theme at WakeMed North Hospital. We’ve created a tranquil luxury atmosphere surrounded by features which promote healing while conserving nature’s resources. Glass throughout the facility allowing for maximum daylight and natural elements such as wood, stone, and granite along with a soothing paint palette create a connection to the outdoors. Spacious room accommodations for the family to stay overnight and upgraded bed & bath linens and toiletries offer our patients a spa-quality experience.

• Four labor/delivery triage rooms
• Six labor/delivery rooms
• One Cesarean section room
• 4 recovery room beds
• 14 postpartum beds
• Lactation resources
• Newborn hearing screening
• A well-baby nursery
• A six-bed, Level III Special Care Nursery
• Coaches Corner for labor support persons, including snacks and Wi-Fi access

Meditation Room 

A quiet place for prayer and reflection is available on the hospital’s main floor.

The Gift Shop 

The Gift Shop, located on the main floor near Falls Café, offers a delightful selection of gifts, clothing, jewelry, fragrances and breastfeeding supplies. 

Baby Photos 

Ask your nurse for information about a photo service to take pictures of your newborn.

Breastfeeding Support 

Lactation consultants are available to new mothers who need breastfeeding support and expertise. They will also provide additional support and education after mother and baby go home. Learn about our Breastfeeding Support Group.

Room Service

WakeMed North Hospital features a beautifully designed, full-service restaurant, Falls Cafe and an upscale coffee bar, Perk, as well as room service for patients and their family members. Our diverse menus are designed to cater to the desires of patients, visitors and local community members who are looking for a high-quality, delicious meal.

We offer thoughtfully developed meals and recipes, including options for health conscious, selective eaters and those who have food allergies or other special dietary needs. Additionally, many of our ingredients and products are sourced directly from local farmer’s markets and bakeries.

In-room Dining 

WakeMed’s Food & Nutrition hosts and hostesses are ready to serve you. When you are hungry, please make a selection from your room service menu and call 919-350-1700 ext. 18328 from your cell phone or dial ext. 18328 (18EAT) from your in-room phone to order. Your meal will be freshly prepared for you and delivered to your room at the time you request.

In addition to the items available on our in-room patient menu, patients and their family members are invited to order the daily specials offered at our hospital restaurant Falls Café.
