Provides planned, skilled nursing care for patients in the critical preoperative and postoperative periods. Provides continuous patient surveillance for early recognition and immediate emergency treatment of medical or surgical complications that may arise in any preoperative or postoperative patient.

Operating Room Registered Nurse
Provides nursing care to the patient. Performs nursing activities in the operating room where the circulating nurse is the patient’s advocate. Answers patient needs by assisting the physician and person responsible for anesthesia care.

The Patient Care Technician is responsible for performing duties in perioperative areas to aid in transporting patients and supplies. This position also documents maintenance and terminal housekeeping in the surgical area.
