Touchless Check-In

graphic of person holding phoneAt WakeMed, we’re committed to keeping you safe and healthy, so we have put technology and processes in place to reduce the number of “touches” in our hospitals and physician practices.

This means you can safely complete almost all registration processes for your visit from the comfort of your own home using your own device. These new tools offer convenience, efficiency and built-in safety. From appointment scheduling to check-in and after-visit follow up, your safety is our top priority!

This is all part of our commitment to keeping you and your family healthy, safe and well.

1. Scheduling an Appointment

You can schedule an appointment with your care team on our website, through the WakeMed MyChart app (on your smart device) or by phone.

2. Before Your Appointment - eCheck-In

Once you schedule your appointment, you’ll automatically receive an email from MyChart inviting you to check-in.

During eCheck-In, you can:

  • Complete all questionnaires.
  • Verify your address.
  • Sign any necessary forms.
  • Pay your co-pay.

You can also:

  • Make any changes, updates or additions to your demographic information.
  • Update your insurance.
  • Add new medications and allergies.

3. When It’s Time For Your Appointment

If you have downloaded the MyChart App and have allowed it to access your locations, you’ll receive an alert welcoming you to campus and asking you to confirm you’re arriving for an appointment. Once confirmed, you’ll receive a prompt to proceed into the office or wait in your vehicle.

When you do have to touch anything (like elevator buttons, door handles or knobs) hand sanitizer is readily available.

Be sure your MyChart app is downloaded with locations turned on to take advantage of our touchless arrival benefits. Simply go to Account Settings > Appointment Arrival. Be sure to select “Always” (iPhone) or “Allow” (Android) to enable the MyChart App to access your locations.

Once your appointment is over, you can use your MyChart app to:

  • See your after-visit summary.
  • View your physician’s notes.
  • Communicate with your care team.
  • Request prescription refills.
  • Pay Your Bill.
