April Phillips, PT, DPT

April Phillips is an experienced physical therapist who specializes in treating orthopaedic conditions such as sports injuries, joint replacements, muscle/joint pain and restoring function and mobility. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Winston Salem State University after receiving her BS in Kinesiology at Campbell University.

Phillips values quality, one-on-one time with her patients to empower them with education on their specific pain and/or injury and work through their recovery together. She enjoys teaching proper functional strengthening techniques and using hands-on skills to help patients reach their full potential and return to doing things they love. She understands recovery from injury is just as much a mental battle as it is a physical one; and believes in the importance of achieving a patient's personal goals in therapy. She enjoys treating people of all ages and abilities but has a special interest in sports injuries/surgeries, post-op joint replacements and balance training/fall prevention.

In her spare time, April enjoys weight-lifting, being outdoors and gardening. She has been married since graduating PT school at which time they moved back home to Clayton to be close to family. She and her husband have one daughter and a couple fur babies they enjoy making memories with.
