About Me
Dr. David Adams is a board-certified pediatrician who joined WakeMed Physician Practices - Pediatrics as a pediatric intensivist with extensive experience in critical care and emergency pediatric medicine. He is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine.
Dr. Adams came to WakeMed after practicing pediatric critical care at Betty Cameron Women and Children's Hospital in Wilmington, N.C. He was previously the attending physician in pediatric emergency medicine at Cape Fear Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C., and also practiced privately in Evanston, Wyo.
He received his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Duke University Children's Hospital. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Adams is certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care by the American Board of Pediatrics. He also holds certifications in advanced trauma life support and pediatric advanced life support.
