About Me
Dr. Divyesh Mehta is a board-certified, fellowship-trained internal medicine, emergency medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care physician with clinical interests in obstructive lung disease, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and shock. He began his education at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. He went on to complete medical school and his residency at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, OH. His fellowship training was completed at The University of North Carolina Health System in Chapel Hill, NC.
Dr. Mehta believes that when patients are hospitalized in an intensive care unit, it is immensely important to have a unified, multidisciplinary, collaborative care team with expertise in managing critical illness who each practice the highest standard of professional care. This includes a commitment to communication between family members and hospital employees as well as nurses, providers, respiratory technicians, physical therapists and consulting teams. Additionally, since patients have the right to receive care based on their personal preferences — he believes integrity, trust and consistency should underlay that autonomy. Ultimately, Dr. Mehta ensures that beneficence and non-maleficence are at the foundation of the care he providers.
Outside of work, Dr. Mehta has many hobbies, including cooking and baking with family; going on hikes with Dolly, the family dog; watching Ohio State football (Go Bucks!); and exploring the beautiful beaches and mountains of North Carolina.
