About Me

Elsa Mae Bagnulo is a nurse practitioner with clinical interests spanning family practice, hospital medicine, pain management and mental health. Her cross-sectional interests allow her to integrate preventive and lifestyle medicine seamlessly in managing chronic diseases and promoting realistic health outcomes. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Throughout Bagnulo’s decades in health care, she has found that optimal health is located at the intersection of preventative, lifestyle and contemporary medicine. Her approach to patient care is holistic, emphasizing the importance of collaborative learning, patient engagement, empowerment and accountability.

Outside the clinical environment, Bagnulo finds solace in practicing yoga, enjoying family travels and cherishing the busy mom life.

Elsa is outstanding. I am a former patient of Neuse Valley Internal. I am at WakeMed Primary because I followed Elsa and Dr. [ ]- both excellent physicians. I have enjoyed my association with WakeMed Primary as well.

The entire staff was great. Elsa was wonderful. We moved to NC 2.5 years ago and I had put off finding a primary care due to having a hard time finding a provider I liked in the past. Immediately after meeting Elsa, my worry went away. She listened to my concerns, communicated her plan going forward, and recapped before finalizing my appointment. I had blood work done on a Friday, and by Monday morning she had already updated my chart with all of her notes pertaining to the results. Highly recommend Elsa and the rest of the staff.

Dr. Bagnulo struck me as very intelligent, very caring and thorough. I am comparing her to the last couple PCP providers I have had including gynaecologists and pcps and I felt more cared for and understood by her than any other. I am glad she's my PCP
