About Me

Jason Ho is a pediatric cardiologist with clinical interests in pediatric electrophysiology including supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and Wolff-Parkinson White (WPW), channelopathies and cardiomyopathies including familial screening, and autonomic dysfunction.

After graduating from medical school in 2005, Dr. Ho remained in Greenville, NC at the Brody School of Medicine to complete a residency in pediatrics. After that, he completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Indiana University, serving as chief fellow during this time. He then completed a senior fellowship in pediatric electrophysiology at Vanderbilt.

Dr. Ho then took a position as an assistant professor in pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, FL. In addition to teaching, he has published several articles and a textbook chapter. He remained in Florida until Summer 2018, when he joined WakeMed Physician Practices – Pediatric Cardiology.

Dr. Ho brings a unique perspective to pediatric cardiology as his oldest child was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent surgery at 5 months of age. This experience allows Dr. Ho to relate to patients and their families on both a professional and personal level.

Dr. Ho is married and has four children. He enjoys running and has participated in several half and full marathons.

The woman who did my son's echocardiogram was absolutely phenomenal; he had quite a bit of anxiety and so many questions but she answered them all and was so kind and gentle with him!

Dr. Ho was a breath of fresh air! He did not seem rushed at all, was wonderful with our toddler, and did a great job explaining things. Shauna(?), who did the echo, was also fabulous.

The entire staff was outstanding, from the nurse, Dr. Ho and ultrasound/echo tech. Appointments with a small baby can be unpredictable but the entire staff was extremely understanding about how cooperative a baby may or may not be, friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Ho is very respectful, knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. He explained everything very well and delivered the information very well too, making sure we were satisfied with everything and didn’t have anymore questions.

Dr. Ho is a wonderful doctor. He is thorough and detailed in his explanations, providing drawings and comparisons between normal anatomy/function and my sons anatomy/function. While he was explaining, Dr. Ho was great at checking in to make sure my husband and I were following and understanding everything. I feel very grateful that my son had Dr. Ho on his care team. I have been telling others about the positive experience we had. We have been in a lot of doctor’s offices recently and yours was a breath of fresh air. From the security, registration, nurse, ultrasound sound tech to the doctor were all kind and created a welcome and comfortable atmosphere. My daughter was listened to and everything was handled expediently with care and attention. I could not be happier with the overall experience.

We are glad to meet Dr. Jason Ho, his assessment and explanation of my son's condition was really thorough. Detailing everything about my son's heart condition: types and seriousness of the defect, the pressure inside, blood flow, and other factors involve. He clearly explained everything and can tell if the condition warrants further treatment or surgery. His expertise give us a clear view of what is going on. We are really thankful that my son doesn't need a surgery. Dr. Ho took our long term worries away.

[NAME] sees Dr. Ho a couple times a year for a serious cardiac related disorder. He is consistently competent, interested, compassionate and concerned. He always discusses everything clearly and makes sure we have what we need - from meds to school letters, He has eye contact with [NAME]] as the patient even though she is a minor. She feels heard. Can’t thank him enough. Grateful for his care. The staff is also always VERY friendly in the Clayton office. Good operation!

Dr. Ho called me then night before to work us in because [NAME] appointment had be cancelled that day due to power outages. He took my concerns and “gut” feeling seriously and we were seen the next day. He was able to find a problem we can begin treating immediately vs waiting the two weeks the scheduling department was able to get us.

I felt that Dr. Jason Ho did a great job explaining the process of the echo and the at home heart monitor and I’m so glad he recommended doing an echo because the hospital did not. We were not aware of the at home monitor and wish we knew about that in the hospital. Thank you for the follow up appointment after our hospital stay ! Bonnie also did a great job in the Ultrasound room to make sure my son was comfortable and had very good fish sound effects and lights in the room!
