Kayla Zmayefski, NP

Kayla Zmayefski is a nurse practitioner with clinical interests in general cardiology, cardiogenic shock, mechanical support and coronary artery disease. She also loves critical care medicine, gerontology and mental health. She completed her bachelor’s degree through Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. She earned her master of science in nursing in adult gerontological acute care nurse practitioner from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

Zmayefski’s personal patient care philosophy involves establishing a relationship with her patients since they are each unique. She finds it is vital to spend time listening and learning about each patient as each one’s individual experiences impact medical outcomes. Zmayefski affirms that health is affected by genetic, behavioral, environmental and social factors, so no two cases are alike since no two people are alike. Hence, understanding patients and taking the same level of interest in them as she would her own family, are essential in delivering the highest quality care.

Outside of work, Zmayefski enjoys exploring with her toddler and reading medical books.
