About Me
Dr. Kira Vurlicer is a board certified family medicine physician who has been practicing medicine since 2000. She relocated from Texas to North Carolina in 2005. She brings a broad range of expertise from years working in emergency and urgent care, as well as private practice and medical center settings. She comes to WakeMed from Horizon Family Medicine, where she spent ten years providing family medicine and urgent care services to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients. She prefers to work in collaboration with patients to determine their best care plan. She believes that the optimal way to do this is by educating patients on the current medical guidelines and evolving research. She has a special interest in women's wellness. When she is not taking care of patients, she spends her time corralling her energetic sons, outdoors at the beach, going camping, kayaking, traveling, and scuba diving.
