About Me

Kristen Landis is a board-certified neonatal nurse practitioner with clinical interests in improving neonatal outcomes at outlying hospitals, reducing pain and limiting procedures, preventing Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH) and central line infection, ensuring neurodevelopmental follow-up after the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), supporting teen mothers and providing breastfeeding support to mothers whose babies are in the NICU.

She also has particular interest in the welfare of Latino families. During childhood, she was fortunate to be exposed to Hispanic culture, learning Spanish at a very young age. For this reason, she has true compassion for the Latino population with memorable experiences in providing support, encouragement and education to Latino mothers with babies in the NICU. Her dream is to one day undertake mission travel abroad to underserved countries to improve the care and outcomes of neonates.

Landis’ personal patient care philosophy and approach are family-centered and holistic. She takes great pride in caring for neonates and their families and fully believes that each person who cares for our precious population is equally essential in neonatal outcomes. With more than a decade’s experience as a bedside nurse, she has seen different approaches in provider care that facilitate patient outcomes. She believes in demonstrating strong leadership qualities, communication skills and trust with her care team to affect the best patient outcomes possible.

Outside of work, Landis is a busy wife and mother. Together, they enjoy lounging at the beach, exploring outdoors, attending concerts and festivals, trying new foods and traveling.
