About Me

Dr. Lauren Henrikson is a licensed psychologist, experienced in health psychology who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team. She considers herself a generalist, but specializes in treating adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic health issues, pain and body image concerns. She also specializes in conducting presurgical evaluations. Dr. Henrikson received her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. She also completed a predoctoral internship at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI.

Dr. Henrikson’s personal patient care philosophy is rooted in a therapeutic orientation that blends cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) with a person-centered approach, thereby creating a comprehensive framework for healing that addresses both the psychological and emotional needs of her patients. She believes each individual is unique, possessing distinct life experiences, challenges and strengths that must be acknowledged and integrated into the therapeutic process. This person-centered orientation fosters an environment of empathy and trust, where patients feel safe to express their feelings and concerns without fear of judgment. By actively listening and validating their experiences, Dr. Henrikson empowers patients to take an active role in the healing journey.

Outside of work, Dr. Henrikson enjoys traveling (both within the United States and internationally) and spending time with family.
