About Me
As a speech-language pathologist, LeAnne Sirk provides specialized therapies for speech and language problems, swallowing disorders, aphasia and cognitive deficits due to stroke, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury and other neurological issues.
Sirk’s path to becoming a speech therapist/pathologist is personal. “My mother had a stroke the day before my high school graduation, which resulted in aphasia,” she says. Sirk’s time caring for her mother piqued her interest in speech pathology and neuro rehab. She finds it rewarding to see her patients make progress, increase their ability to communicate, return to work and achieve their goals.
Sirk earned her bachelor’s degree at NC State and her master’s degree at ECU. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring North Carolina’s small towns with her husband, going on walks and spending time with friends and family.
