Lynn Kakos, PhD

Dr. Lynn Kakos is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in adult neuropsychology, with special interests in dementia and mild cognitive impairment, normal cognitive aging, and cognitive functioning in brain injury, stroke, and infectious disease. She joined the WakeMed team in 2015. Dr. Kakos completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Kent State University and internship and post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. Dr. Kakos provides neuropsychological assessment to adult patients with a variety of neurological diagnoses.

Dr. Kakos approaches each patient as an individual and is conscious of providing the time and space to understand the specific factors involved in each patient and their family's care. Dr. Kakos appreciates the opportunity to engage in a thorough clinical interview, comprehensive testing, and feedback to patients and their loved ones regarding results, impressions, and recommendations. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, swimming, and watching baseball.
