About Me

MaryLynn Tully is a doctorate-prepared physical therapist with specialty training in mechanical diagnosis and therapy as well as clinical interests in therapeutic interventions for the spine, total hip, total knee, neck pain, back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, shoulder replacement, rotator cuff, sciatica and tennis elbow. She began her undergraduate education at CUNY Queens in Flushing, NY. She went on to complete a doctorate through Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.

Tully's approach to physical therapy centers around treating the whole person, recognizing that all patients' physical, emotional and psychological needs are unique. She prioritizes understanding their lifestyle, goals and challenges to create personalized care plans that restore physical function and enhance overall well-being. She believes in a collaborative partnership between therapist and patient. By valuing open communication and respecting patient autonomy, she empowers individuals to actively participate in the decision-making process, fostering a supportive and empowering healing environment. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality care by integrating current research and evidence-based practices into her treatment approach, while remaining adaptable to individual needs. Patient education is a cornerstone of her practice. By equipping individuals with knowledge about their condition, rehabilitation processes and self-care techniques, she promotes independence and long-term success, empowering them to take control of their recovery journey. Understanding that physical therapy can be demanding, she approaches each patient with compassion, empathy and respect, cultivating a trusting environment that motivates them to stay focused on achieving their goals. Her primary objective is to improve functional outcomes and enhance each patient's quality of life. Whether it's returning to cherished activities, reducing pain or improving mobility, she collaborates with patients to define realistic goals and help them achieve lasting results. She emphasizes the importance of ongoing care, injury prevention and physical health beyond rehabilitation, empowering patients to build the strength, flexibility and awareness needed to prevent future injuries and sustain a healthy, active lifestyle.

When not at work, Tully enjoys crocheting, reading and listening to audiobooks, volunteering at her church bookstore, cherishing family dinners while cooking with her husband and adult children, spending time with friends, walking the greenways, taking the doors and top off their Jeep for a scenic ride and spending time at the Outer Banks.
