About Me

Peyton Strickland is a physician assistant with clinical interests in treating sports-related injuries and empowering older adults to regain mobility and confidence after falls or other injuries.

Strickland was born and raised in Raleigh and is excited to work in the community she grew up in. She earned her bachelor’s degree in genetics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and her master of physician assistant practice from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.

Strickland strives to provide each patient with the compassionate care she would expect for her family and friends. She also employs shared decision-making to create a personalized treatment plan that works best for each patient.

Outside of work, Strickland enjoys watching all North Carolina State University sports, especially football. Go Wolfpack! She also enjoys relaxing at Topsail Beach and reading a good book while lounging in her hammock.

Hello, I recently walked in at the urgent care facility at Wake Med orthopedic for a neck and shoulder pain. I was seen by Dr. Peyton Virginia Strickland. I was seen quickly, and my x-rays were explained thoroughly. I left with a plan in place, and even more importantly, the confidence that I my neck/shoulder pain could be figured out! I wish that I had come sooner and if I experience any future issue’s i know I can pick up where the Dr. and I left off. Overall one of my best experiences at WakeMed

Yes, the entire visit was a wonderful experience. I was upset about having issues with my hand and having to miss work so my anxiety level was high upon arrival. I was worried about wait time. I had no wait at all and all the team members I interacted with were so positive and friendly. Peyton went above and beyond on her explanation of my condition and treatment options and allowed me to play a role in deciding the best treatment plan. She entertained several questions from my husband and I. She has phenomenal bedside manner and truly eased my anxiety. What a wonderful facility and great care!

The PA who did the examination provided excellent information throughout the entire process. She took the time to explain and listen even though the clinic was busy. The efficiency of the entire staff should be commended as well. The front desk check in was smooth and friendly. The facility was spotless as well.

Yes, Peyton listened and really understood my pain concerns and treated them with the urgency I needed. The X-ray tech and medical asst were both so nice, courteous, and all three worked well as a team.

My daughter was so excited about her care from Ms. Strickland. She’s [] and was so impressed she wants to be an Ortho PA. Her diagnosis was explained, she showed her the imaging of her shoulder and explained everything thoroughly. She appreciated Peyton’s energy and caring bedside manner.
