About Me

Dr. Scott Moore is a general surgeon with clinical interests hernias, colon cancer and other GI tract disorders, chest wall injuries, and dialysis access. He is also a trauma surgeon and is a key member of WakeMed's Level One Trauma Center in Raleigh.

Dr. Moore began his medical career in 2007 and completed his general surgery residency and a research fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill. He then went on to complete specialized training in Acute Care Surgery at the University of Colorado.

Dr. Moore has published numerous original research papers and book chapters in the surgical literature, and has won awards at major research conferences. He is very involved with WakeMed's long history of medical student and resident education.

In his free time, Dr. Moore enjoys spending time with family, SCUBA diving, hiking, and camping.

I have no heard to many other people sing praises about their care from his/her doctor. Since I met Dr. Scott Moore in 2022, I have been very impressed with his professionalism and expertise as a physician. I am so thankful he was present when I was brought to Wake Med in such a critical condition.

I am so grateful to have had Dr.Scott Moore as my surgeon. He is very adamant about making certain that as a patient, I am was informed of the surgery procedure and after care instructions. I really appreciate his attention to details and he is professionalism.

They went out of their way to allow me to keep the follow up appointment at Fuquay rather than having to go to the Raleigh Wake Med campus. I was definitely not ready to drive that distance or in that level of traffic.
