About Me
Staci Pessetti is a board-certified physician assistant with clinical interests in oncology, hematology, and palliative care. Pessetti completed her bachelor’s in psychology from Hope College in Holland, Michigan and attended the Physician Assistant program at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Prior to joining WakeMed, Pessetti worked as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Behavioral Health, Gastroenterology, gaining experience in both outpatient and inpatient medicine, as well as the international medical mission field. Before joining the WakeMed Cancer Care team, Pessetti worked at WakeMed Primary Care where she cared for patients of all ages.
Pessetti’s passion is partnering with patients to help them understand their health, supporting them in reaching their treatment goals, and advocating for patients’ needs. She believes patients are most empowered when they feel heard and are well informed about their care, and therefore strives to provide reliable education and resources for patients and their families. Pessetti is dedicated to providing compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based care.
Outside of work, Pessetti enjoys being outdoors, going to the beach, playing piano, writing, staying involved with her church and spending time with her two dogs.
