About Me

Dr. Biswas is a clinical associate professor at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and an attending general, trauma and critical care surgeon at WakeMed. He earned his medical degree and master's degree in surgery from Maulana Azad Medical College - University of New Delhi in India and completed his residency in general surgery at the New York Medical College Program at Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center and Saint Vincent's Hospital & Medical Center, both in New York City.

He also completed two fellowships, one in surgical critical care at New York Medical College and the other in trauma at Saint Vincent's. Dr. Biswas is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. His clinical interests include pancreato-biliary surgery and trauma/critical care.

I love Wake Med! I was treated with respect & quick responses. I had so many fantastic interactions with my surgeon & his team that I could not possibly describe each one. The nursing staff, physical therapists, IV team, & radiology were all top notch. I don't remember everyone's name, but the few I do include Pristine, RN, Rylee, RN, & a tech who graduated nursing school. She worked night shift & was so funny I had to laugh. She was also very knowledgeable. I think she had blonde hair & wore a head scarf that said "Nurse." I am so appreciative.

I am a retired Urologic surgeon so I hope I know something about providing healthcare. Dr Biswas was excellent in his explanations, bedside manner, and technical expertise. If I were still in practice, I would be very happy to refer my patients to him.

Recently moved to Raleigh area from NYC, resident of North Raleigh. The surgery center closest to me didn’t have an appt available until late October, but the Fuquay location had one available just a week out from schedule call! Booked and am so beyond pleased - the staff was EXCEPTIONALLY friendly & respectful of time! Would happily make the drive anytime due to such amazing care!

I found Dr. Biswas to be extremely compassionate. He explained in detail what my diagnosis was and clearly and carefully explained my options and why he chose the option that he recommended. I left feeling reassured, relaxed, and confident.
