About Me

Dr. Sydney Short is a board-certified, fellowship-trained non-invasive/nuclear stress test imaging cardiologist. Dr. Short comes to us after 30 years at Duke University where he performed clinical research mostly regarding anticoagulant medications, but also including heart rhythm problems as well as pacemakers.

He began his formal education at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He went on to complete medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, WV. Thereafter, Dr. Short relocated to NC where he completed his internship, residency and fellowship through Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Following, he earned a master’s degree in ministry, while attending Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, GA.

Dr. Short enjoys getting to know his patients. Many of them become like family over the years of sharing successes and challenges with their health.

Outside of work, Dr. Short loves spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also enjoys tending to his farm — boasting fruit trees, an herb garden and a vegetable garden.
