About Me
Virginia (Gracie) Cates is a board-certified physician assistant with clinical interests in gastroenterology, emergency and procedural medicine. She received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Campbell University and bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Cates believes successful and efficient patient care is based on treating patients with empathy, respect and acceptance while treating the whole patient, not just their medical symptoms. She focuses on a team-based approach where every single member of the care team plays an invaluable role in the care of their patients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, knitting, exploring the outdoors, and listening to podcasts or audiobooks.
