Keith Whitlock, MD
Orthopaedic Trauma
Dr. Keith Whitlock is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon with clinical interests that span the entire scope of orthopaedic fracture care, with particular emphasis on pelvic and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures of the upper and lower extremities, bone transport for large bone defects and joint replacement for fractures of the hip and shoulder. He earned his undergraduate degree at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Champaign, IL. He attended medical school at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago in Chicago, IL. He went on to finish his residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. He attended a fellowship program at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Whitlock strives to deliver the same level of empathy and attention he would expect for a member of his own family — while meeting patients where they are. His goal is to support patients at their current level of understanding and communicate honestly, to help them determine the best course of treatment for their unique needs and goals — whether that’s getting back to work as quickly as possible, playing with grandchildren or simply continuing to live independently. Ultimately, Dr. Whitlock takes a great deal of pride in helping patients progress from what is often their worst day back to feeling like themselves again.
Outside of work, Dr. Whitlock enjoys playing golf, weightlifting, hiking, gardening and anything else that gets him outside with his wife, daughter and golden retriever.
