  • Upon arrival to our facility, please report to the registration window to check in for your treatment. Please plan to be at our facility for at least 30 minutes (individual treatment times may vary).
  • Next, one of our highly trained imaging technologists will greet you, explain the treatment and what to expect.
  • This is a simple outpatient treatment that is well tolerated by patients with little or no side effects. These will be reviewed with you by your technologist prior to administration.
  • You will have the opportunity to have all your questions answered.
  • Your technologist will then review radiation safety instructions specific to the type of treatment you will be receiving.
  • An IV line will then be established by your technologist.
  • Your technologist will administer a small injection of radioactive tracer. The administration of the radioactive tracer generally takes 1-3 minutes.
  • Once the infusion of radioactive tracer is complete, the IV will be removed.
  • You will then be "discharged" and free to leave our facility.
  • This treatment does not impact your ability to drive. It is not necessary to arrange transportation. You are welcome to bring a visitor, however, please understand that only the patient will be allowed in the treatment room and radiation safety instructions begin immediately after treatment.
  • It is important to strictly adhere to the special radiation safety instructions you receive and keep your lab work appointments as ordered by your referring physician.

Results

When your treatment is complete, it will be routed to a board-certified molecular imaging radiologist for interpretation. At that time, your doctor will receive a detailed report of the findings. In most cases, the report is complete within 24 hours.

  • Upon arrival at our facility, please report to the registration window to check-in for your treatment. You can expect to be at our facility for approximately 5 hours.
  • One of our highly trained nuclear medicine technologists will greet you and explain the treatment and what to expect.
  • Potential side effects as well as radiation safety instructions specific to your treatment will be reviewed with you by your technologist prior to administration.
  • You will have the opportunity to have all your questions answered.
  • This treatment does not impact your ability to drive. It is not necessary to arrange transportation.
  • It is important to strictly adhere to the special radiation safety instructions you receive and keep your lab work appointments as ordered by your oncologist.
  • A nuclear medicine card will be issued to you which you will need to carry with you if you plan to travel or require emergency medical treatment.
     

Results

When your treatment is complete, it will be routed to a board-certified nuclear medicine physician for interpretation. At that time, your oncologist will receive a detailed report of the treatment procedure within 24 hours.

At the completion of your treatment (approximately 3 to 6 months after last treatment dose), your oncologist may order a PET/CT to evaluate your progress.
