Endoscopy Services at WakeMed Cary Hospital
Pre-registration
A few days before your procedure, a Patient Account Representative from Patient Registration may call you to obtain pre-registration information. Our Patient Account Representative will ask you for both personal and financial information.
Please have all of your information available, including policy numbers and claims addresses for health insurance coverage. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be asked for a deposit. A nurse may also call you before your procedure to discuss your medical history and plan of care.
Day of Your Procedure - On Arrival at WakeMed Cary Hospital
Parking is free for patients and visitors and available in the surface lot in front of the hospital. Enter the hospital at the Main Entrance and go to the Information Desk.
Please be sure to take your driver's license and all medical insurance cards with you. After verifying that all of your insurance and demographic information is correct, an armband will be placed on your wrist. You will then be sent to the Advanced Gastrointestinal Center Reception Area.
If you have a living will or health care power of attorney, please bring a copy for your hospital records.
Call 919-350-2435 between 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you have any questions about your procedure or how to comply with instructions, please call your physician directly.
Billing & Insurance
Payment for services will be arranged at Patient Registration. If you have questions about payment, please call the Business Office at 919-350-4800, between 8 am- 4:30 pm, Monday though Friday. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may be asked for a deposit.
As a courtesy, we will file your health insurance for you, so please bring your insurance card(s) with you on the day of your procedure. The patient/guarantor is responsible for the hospital bill and is expected to make payment arrangements if the hospital bill is not paid by the insurance carrier within 45 days.
You may request an estimate of your hospital bill by calling 919-350-0841, at least three business days prior to your procedure, between 8 am - 4:30 pm , Monday though Friday.
You will be asked to provide:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Type of procedure
- Date and length of time scheduled
- Physician's name
We will call you back with an estimate for your hospital bill, but please be aware that this is only an estimate. Your actual bill will be determined by the services your physician orders for you. After your procedure, questions about your bill should be directed to Claims & Billing at 919-350-8359.
If your name has changed, please bring a picture ID for verification.
Remember to contact your insurance company prior to your procedure to determine if pre-certification or a second opinion is required.
You will be billed separately for services performed by the anesthesiologist, surgeon, pathologist and radiologist.
