The Triangle, including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding communities, is consistently ranked among the best places to live and work in the United States.

Food
From BBQ pit masters to plant-based pioneers, our plates are full. We are as proud of our farmers markets and food-truck rodeos as we are of our nationally acclaimed chefs and our dizzying array of restaurants, bars and breweries. You’ll find a food hall or a food festival to satisfy any craving.

You can easily fill your calendar with music festivals of every flavor, family-friendly events, cultural celebrations, Pride celebrations and our State Fair
Our State museums include the NC Museum of Art,NC Museum of History and theNC Museum of Natural Science. There are also numerous performing arts venues including the Durham Performing Arts Center, and dozens of other venues host local, national and international artists and exhibits.
Enjoy festivals? The Triangle is home to the American Dance FestivalHopscotch Music FestivalJ. Cole’s Dreamville, Artsplosure and the IBMA World of Bluegrass, along with the annual local festivals and street fairs many towns host.
Nature
The Triangle includes tens of thousands of acres of local and state parks, greenways, rivers, lakes, gardens and forests. It’s a haven for outdoor enthusiasts of every stripe — even our art museum includes a 164-acre outdoor art park
Home to North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, among others, you’ll find some of the best rivalries in college sports right here in the Triangle — not to mention professional hockeybaseball and soccer teams
For those who’d rather play than watch, it’s also easy to find your sport of choice, from team sports, tennis and golf to horseback riding and rock climbing.
Travel
Here you are as close to the mountains as you are to the beaches of North Carolina (which happen to be some of the most beautiful in the world), and you’re halfway between Miami and New York City.
Local attractions and our international airport make it easy to plan day trips, long weekend getaways or global adventures.
Education
In addition to three major universities, our area includes 12 colleges and universities and eight community colleges. We are proud to be home to three HBCUs, the largest women’s college in the Southeast, four seminaries and thriving technical colleges.
Our public-school systems include award-winning magnet schools, and there is no shortage of charter, independent and internationals schools, as well as accredited Montessori, Waldorf and Emerson schools.
