NicView

NicView™ is an innovative Streaming Camera System placed at designated bed spaces in the NICU and allows parents, family and friends to view their infant in real-time, 24/7, through a secure on-line portal. Family members can securely access NicView from anywhere there is an internet connection via a laptop, smartphone or tablet. 

This NicView camera service, funded by the WakeMed Foundation, helps families bond with their preemie or hospitalized infant even when they can’t be in the NICU with them. We understand this can be a difficult time for families and hope NicView can add peace of mind and provide reassurance when you can’t be at the bedside. This service is completely optional.

What You Will See

Once you are logged in, you will start receiving streaming images of your baby. However, when the team is caring for your baby, the camera will be in privacy mode, in which case you will see an ‘off-line’ message. Please check back shortly.

Accessing NicView™

Once you have signed a consent form, you will be provided a print-out with your unique log-in credentials from the NICU team.

Steps to Begin Streaming

• Go to www.nicview.net
• Enter your unique User Name and Password

View May be Obstructed at Times

• Blankets over incubator to protect from ambient light
• Baby is in a bouncer or swing 
• Phototherapy – this may cause the color to be distorted
• Feeding or care time repositioning
• Babies move, cry and spit up. These are natural responses and not cause for concern.
